Sora no Woto (So Ra No Wo To) bercerita Di pinggiran negara Helvetia terletak di kota menawan Seize . Di jalan-jalan berbatu , warga menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari mereka , tidak terganggu oleh hubungan militer yang semakin tegang antara Helvetia dan tetangga mereka Kekaisaran Romawi.
Dalam keadaan inilah peleton Helvetian yang ke-1121 , ditempatkan di Benteng Clocktower di Seize , menerima seorang rekrutan baru di Kanata Sorami seorang anak muda yang penuh dengan semangat . Setelah bergabung dengan militer untuk mewujudkan mimpinya belajar memainkan terompet , dia dengan penuh semangat menerima pengawasan Sersan Mayor Rio Kazumiya yang kebetulan adalah seorang terompet trampil . Bekerja di samping mereka adalah mekanik yang menyendiri , Noël Kannagi , penembak yang penuh semangat , Kureha Suminoya dan Kapten Felicia Heideman yang penuh kasih sayang . Bersama-sama mereka mengalami keindahan hidup di Seize dan kegembiraan abadi sebuah komunitas yang telah bertahan meskipun dunia yang hancur di sekitar mereka .
