God Eater bercerita pada tahun 2071 seluruh dunia mendapat serangan yang sangat mengerikan dari monter yang bernama “Aragami” . Monter tersebut tidak bisa di bunuh dengan senjata biasa seperti peluru maupun rudal , mereka menghancurkan apa pun yang mereka lewati semua pemerintah dunia kebingunan melawan monster tersebut.
Dengan harapan terakhir pemerintah dunia membentuk sebuah organisasi yang dikenal dengan nama Fenrir didirikan untuk memusnahkan Aragami dengan memakai senjata yang disebut Jin-Ki . Jin-Ki berasal dari sel Aragami . Mereka yang ahli dalam memusnahkan Aragami dikenal dengan sebutan “God Eater” . Pada dasarnya God Eater hanya memiliki satu jenis di Jin-Ki mereka yang bisa memakai salah satu dari pistol atau pedang , tapi ada jenis baru yang dapat mengganti senjatanya dengan wujud pistol mau pun pedang . Sejak saat itu , jenis ini disebut jenis baru dan yang sebelumnya disebut jenis lama .
