Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin Seri pengantar Mobile Suit Gundam dengan sudut pandang yang berbeda, dan cerita lebih difokuskan ke riwayat hidup seorang Char Aznable (Casval Rem Deikun).Menceritakan kondisi Bumi yang sudah tidak layak dihuni, lalu umat manusia menjelah ke luar angkasa untuk membuat tempat huni baru (koloni). Namun kesejahteraan di koloni tidak merata, akhirnya penghuni koloni memutuskan untuk memisahkan diri dari Federasi Bumi.



Di saat Proklamator Zeon Zum Deikun ingin memisahkan diri, dia dibunuh dan dikhianati oleh Zabi. Zabi dan Ral adalah kaki-tangannya Deikun, Ral yang mengetahui Zabi berkhianat akhirnya memberontak dengan membawa kedua anak Deikun, Casval dan Artesia.



Beberapa tahun kemudian, Casval beranjak dewasa dan berniat kembali menghadapi Zabi.
