Gokukoku no Brynhildr Ketika ia masih kecil, Murakami sering bermain dengan seorang gadis yang ia juluki dengan Kuroneko. Dia bersikeras mengetahui tentang alien dan sudah pernah bertemu alien, tapi tidak ada yang percaya padanya, bahkan Murakami. Suatu hari, dia memutuskan untuk menunjukkan kepadanya alien, tapi kecelakaan terjadi dan Kuroneko mati sementara Murakami terluka parah di rumah sakit.
Tahun demi tahun berlalu, Murakami terobsesi untuk menemukan bukti keberadaan alien karena janji yang telah dibuatnya dengan Kuroneko. Kemudian, suatu hari, seorang mahasiswa transfer baru datang ke kelasnya, ia terlihat sangat mirip dengan teman masa kecilnya, Kuroneko. Akan tetapi gadis itu bernama Kurohaneko!
